Friendship, Food and Shopping

In that order! It was great. Sancy and Paula arrived on Wednesday night. We went out to eat and Paula and Sancy could not believe that I went out in public with no makeup and my hair pulled back! They both said they never leave the house without makeup and their hair done. I promised that I would wear makeup on Thursday!

Well, Thursday morning at 7:00 a.m. sharp we left the house. We arrived at the War Eagle show about 8:00 a.m. We enjoyed ourselves quietly making fun of women who were in groups and wore matching clothes, hats (tall purple hats that looked like witch's hats), and even had shopping carts. We even saw two women that had plastic bags over their shoes! We sure didn't understand that. Sancy got her corn dog. For a year she has been thinking about that corn dog! We left War Eagle around noon. We headed to Bella Vista Arts and Crafts. After again watching the women that were in groups and all dressed alike we ate kettle corn, peanuts, funnel cake, corn dog, fried snicker bars, and pork sandwiches. From there we headed to Spanker Creek. We stayed at Spanker Creek shopping until around 6:00 p.m. It was still daylight so we headed to the Clarion Inn. They didn't have as much food so we didn't stay there as long! But, we did buy "Happy Feet." Sancy and Paula shared the Happy Feet and decided that was a good purchase so I went back and bought Gary some Happy Feet. Now, it's almost 8:00 p.m. We had eaten junk food all day so we thought we probably needed some healthy foods. We stopped at the Olive Garden for a salad. We get home around 9:00 p.m. and went to bed so that we could start all over again Friday morning.

So...now its Friday morning and we all wake up with aches and pains. Our feet hurt and we have low back pain. Paula and I are waiting on Sancy to get ready so we go outside to take pictures. It's cold but we still take pictures out by the pool. Sancy comes outside and we take more pictures and then decide it's time to head out. We grab a diet coke and Tylenol and leave. We make it to Embassy Suites by 9:00 a.m. There, we found quite a few good deals. Paula won a drawing for Arbonne products. We were so excited! By this time everyone is feeling sorry for Bennett because I had made quite a few purchases for Anna Claire, Jessica and Jess and nothing for Bennett. I swear, I don't understand what arts and craft fair vendors have against little boys! There was nothing. Paula found some great things for her granddaughters also. We manage to stay here most of the day and then we headed to the Springdale Holiday Inn and Convention Center. Dayton (Sancy's grandson) called her and told her not to buy him any "school stuff." She bought him two books, both autographed by the author I think. Sancy is known for buying educational books for the little ones in the family! Even Patrick once told her "No more books." I told her she better stop at Walmart on the way home to buy Dayton something that is not "school stuff." We finished the day shopping here until 5:00 p.m.

The vendors would make comments about how long their work hours were. We made comments about how long our shopping hours were! As Paula and Sancy loaded their car, we all started planning our matching outfits and hats for next year. We will also all have those cute little carts that you push around to put your purchases in. We had to make more than one trip to the car to unload some purchases. There's a reason for the matching outfits we soon found out. I'm not sure we'll put plastic bags over our shoes though! We will have to be desperate before we do that!

Paula and Sancy are gone. I am exhausted. It is 8:15 p.m. and I am going to bed. My legs feel like I have been running for two days straight. I can feel them throbbing. I can't wait until next year. We will do this all over again!

We are at the Rib Crib eating Wednesday night. This was our first night.

We are at the Spanker Creek Arts and Crafts show. This was our third show of the day!

You need to join us next year. For two days we didn't have a worry in the world. She were all just like kids again. I have never laughed so much in my life.

If you join us next year, you will have to wear a matching outfit. We are all going to dress alike. That's what the hard core shoppers did!
