The pool is covered for the winter. It will not be open again until next April. Once the pool is closed, that means fall is here and it is time to clean the yard to prepare for winter.
The cushions are stacked ready to be cleaned and put in the attic. Maybe I'll do this tomorrow.
The flowers have all died. The monkey grass has been butchered. All that is left is one lonely cabbage plant and some marigolds that are hanging on. Those will soon be gone.
My beautiful purple flowers are gone. All that was left was brown stems. Now I have clay pots adorned with dirt.
This is my view from the kitchen for all of fall, winter and most of spring. The curtains will stay closed most of the time.Tommorrow I will clean the cushions and put those away. I'm considering hiring the neighbor boys to cut down the cannas. Or maybe I will for the exercise but just take my time. I really need to finish the yard work before it gets cold. I heard the high tomorrow will be 50 degrees. Then, I need to find a place for the clay pots. One year I left them outside for the winter and they all cracked. I may replant my palm plants, but then again, I may not.

We are winterizing our pool tomorrow. I still have a few flowers that well, lets be honest, are no longer flowers but brown stems, that need to be thrown out and pots put away.I want to get that done this weekend. would like to get all of the outside things done before Halloween but not sure that will happen.
Fall--I love the turning of the leaves but don't like all the brown, flowers being gone, no color left and a signal of things to come -- for me SNOW. Enjoy your warmer weather while you still can, it's 20's here at night.
