The "Quack" Shack

That's the name Brent's friend labelled the travel trailer. The RV is now a duck hunting club. You saw it coming, didn't you? Jessica did.

We went to Lake Carl Blackwell (part of the Oklahoma State University system) in Stillwater, Oklahoma this weekend. We were right on the lake. This weekend there was a competitive trail ride going on at the lake so we were surrounded by horses. There were 160 riders...so I guess 160 horses :)They weren't all staying at the same campground we were, thank goodness. Beautiful horses. Several horse owners offered to let Anna Claire pet the horse or even sit on the horse. She just wanted to look at the horses at a close distance.

Saturday some of Brent and Jessica's friends came over. Anna Claire and Mason are very close friends. They spent the entire summer together this past summer in Florida. Mason and his family came over Saturday. Mark, Brent's close friend and duck hunting buddy, also came over. Mark spent the night with us. Mr. Mark loves Anna Claire but she will just look at him and say "no." Poor Mark, he would give anything if she would hug him or give him a kiss.

We could not get Anna Claire to play outside. She wanted to stay in the "camp house" and her "cage" (i.e. her bedroom). In fact, she would not play outside until Mason came over. Then, he also wanted to stay in the camp house. I think they thought it was a super-sized club house. Mason called the trailer "cool" and he and Anna Claire had fun playing on the bunk beds, doing crafts, and eating a bag of chips so that they could throw the empty bag in the fire.

Sunday morning before the guys came back from hunting Anna Claire and I made a chocolate cake in a mug. You stir the ingredients in a coffee mug and cook it in the microwave for exactly 3 minutes. My expectations were very low but it was GREAT! It was enough for three of us (Jessica, Anna Claire and Ma). We had strawberries and whipped cream. That was our breakfast!

We left the travel trailer at an RV park in Stillwater until the end of November. We'll go to Stillwater on weekends until we bring it home for the winter.

This is Anna Claire's very close friend. Mason and Anna Claire have spent the last two summers together in Florida.
Anna Claire and Mason made sun visors. Most of Anna Claire's stickers ended up on Granddad's arm.Jessica bought craft supplies and the kids were entertained a very long time crafting. It was funny...Mason only wanted the car racing stickers and Anna Claire wanted only the Princess stickers. Neither one had the slightest desire to grab the other's stickers.
We were surrounded by horses. Anna Claire wanted to pet the horse until she got close to it.
