HAPPY BIRTHDAY BENNETT (ONE YEAR OLD, MARCH 24, 2009)

Dear Bennett,

Words can not express the love your Ma and Granddad have for you. It is a love that is unmeasurable. The happiness we feel when we are with you is beyond anything we have ever experienced, except when your Dad and Uncle Shane were born and also when mommy and daddy married. We felt the same love and joy.

We are having so much fun watching you turn into a little man and you are certainly "all boy." You love to crawl in the grass, eat dirt, and race Ma to the stairs. A few times you have won the race and ended up halfway up the stairs before Ma could catch you.

Ma and Granddad love to hear you squeal with laughter when sis Anna Claire walks toward you. We love to watch your little feet move back and forth with excitement when you see your mommy and daddy. Ma loves it when you see her and you start kicking your feet. Granddad beams with pride when you see him and you start pointing and making funny noises like you are talking to him. Then you will just start grinning at him.

Bennett, Ma and Granddad think you are just the smartest one year old in the world. You know when you are not supposed to be near the wall outlets because you will stop when you reach the outlet and look to see what Ma will do. There's just one little bitty thing you do that Ma hopes you will grow out of. You talk back to me. When I tell you "no" you will grunt in a very loud voice back at me. I don't know what you are saying but I don't think it is a "happy" voice.

Dear Bennett, Ma and Granddad hope you have a very happy one-year old birthday and that you get to eat all the cake you want to.

Ma and Granddad will not be with Bennett on his birthday March 24th so we (mainly Jessica and Brent) sang him "Happy Birthday" while we were in the travel trailer at Holiday Island yesterday.
