Gary and Betsy

Two hours before the fireworks show hosted by Lost Bridge Village. By the time the show started, over 200 boats were lined up at the lake.

Our lake vacation ended today. We met some great people and they live just down the road. We shared hors d'oeuvres with them (they made jalapeno and cheese wrapped in bacon and Gary made marinated duck wrapped in bacon) and meals. They brought over fish and Gary gave them grilled chicken.
We have been gone a month even though I came home most days to keep up with my online classes. Gary starts back to work tomorrow. Most likely we'll still be camping this summer but on weekends and long holidays.
I've decided on a theme for the outside. It's Razorbacks. I'm sure that is no surprise to anyone. We have a large Razorback rug. I've just ordered a collapsible Razorback trash can. Now I'm trying to find Razorback picnic table covers and Razorback party lights. We really are the only ones that camp that do not have RV party lights. I swore I would never go that far but here I am...looking for specific party lights. We'll be doing some tailgating this fall so the Razorback theme will fit in nicely. I would like to eventually get a Razorback canopy but I'm not sure we need one.
Now I need to get serious about this house and yard. The yard is a mess. When the boys were little I let them do whatever they wanted to in the yard (i.e. play in dirt, ruin my flower beds, etc.) I always said when they no longer lived at home I could have a pretty yard. Well, that didn't last long. Along came grandchildren and Kaidence. When Anna Claire was here a couple of weeks ago she dug a "swimming pool" in my flower bed and filled it with water. Everything around it has died now. Last week Kaidence decided to water 3 of my plants in big pots. Let's just the say the plants are not dead from lack of water. They drowned, literally. So, about half my flowers are dead right now. I don't mind because they had so much fun and it was entertaining. Maybe I'll have pretty flowers after the grandchildren and Kaidence go off to college. But, not now.
Since we are staying home next week I plan to spend some time working in the flower beds. I will replace the dead flowers while Gary is at work. He always makes comments that I can not keep anything alive so I usually just replace flowers as they die and he never even realizes anything is different.
