Tough Week

So glad it is Friday...although the weekend will be busy. I'm teaching 3 online courses. Two are for freshmen and I haven't taught freshmen in probably 15 years. My Blackboard computer tech person has disappeared and my students can't find the link to upload their submissions. I instructed them earlier in the semester (last Monday) that I will not accept anything via email...don't even try. Well, the first assignment is due Monday and the guy is not answering my emails. Looks like I will be learning the technical side of Blackboard this weekend.

That was just Tough Week post number 1. Here's number 2: I attended a two-hour seminar on the Nikon D90 Tuesday night. What did I learn? That I need five more two-hour workshops. It's over my head. This was the only seminar. I had signed up for Photography 101 for the rest of the semester but had to cancel. I've taken on some administrative duties this year and I don't want to obligate myself to every Tuesday night.

Third Tough Week thing: Everyone in the building I work in has to move out in October. We were asked to take most things in our office home. Where do I put two leather chairs, computer chair, huge painting, several vases, and several wall hangings? Plus, about 100 books, files, notebooks. My head is spinning. The remodeling will take "just 18 months." In academic months, that's two years! We have temporary quarters but I plan on doing the bulk of my work from home. That's another story. I am confined to a corner in my bedroom! I don't have a single bookcase or even a real desk. I'm using Brent's from high school and it matches Anna Claire's bed. I really should give it to Anna Claire or Bennett.

That's it. Just had to gripe. I'm trying to figure out this Blackboard thing and I needed to let off steam. Back to work...

How often do you find yourself thinking about retirement? Let me know when you need a vacation, I run a pretty good B&B!

Give Jake a jingle... I'll send his number over email. He is good at giving pointers. Just make sure to have a specific question or he may try to give you the entire Photography 101 class in one hour. :)
