Razorback Weekend

The weekend has started. Faculty and staff in my college are gathering at Jose's for drinks after work. Originally a staff member had the time as 3:30 p.m. on the email that went out to all faculty. After a few thoughts, it was changed to 4:30 p.m. Wouldn't seem quite right to meet for drinks at 3:30 p.m. when quitting time is 4:30 p.m. Ooops, little mistake there.

My secretary is a dream. I am normally very good at meeting deadlines. In fact, I always do; that is if I put it on my To Do list. She just emailed me and told me the Purdue forms are due today for online classes. Since I'm working from home today it would be very difficult to accomplish that task. She's doing it for me! Thank goodness someone looks out for me. In return, I'll buy her whatever in the world she wants to eat and drink. Anything for meeting a deadline!

The Razorback flag went out this morning. It's flying in the wind.

The extra scholarship parking permits were sold. Extra money in pocket, I guess. Don't really know where it has already gone. Extra "outside" tickets sold. Just need to clean the car, take out the two baby car seats, and put up the two car flags and decals. Now, where is that Razorback shirt I bought at War Eagle last year!

This week was a busy, busy week. I had to go into the office three days. I know you may think "Well, too bad" but when I go into the office that means my online classes are neglected. That's not good. Next week I only have one meeting and that is next Friday. However, I'm going to Norman, OK Sunday and will stay until Tuesday.

This year I have an interim Dean and two interim Associate Deans. Can I say I think all three are the best in the world? They are so easy to work with. Although, they do keep asking me to do things and I have the "can't say no" disease.

Anna Claire did well in gymnastics this morning! Yea! What a relief! Jessica left the room and that probably made all the difference. I am so happy. Last week she did not want to participate at all.

Bennett made me a Happy Grandparent's Day bookmark. It's Gary's also. It is his footprint on laminated paper. It is the cutest thing ever. He is only 16 months old and so smart! He made it at Mother's Day out. I'll always have a place for it somewhere in this house. I mailed him a thank you note today.

I had told Jessica to ignore Happy Grandparent's Day. I have always thought it was just a commericalized holiday and I refused to be sucked into it. Well, this bookmark just melted my heart so maybe Happy Grandparent's Day isn't all that bad, is it?

Well, I have finished my work for the day. Completed paperwork for three classes and submitted doctoral exams for a student taking those next week. Answered at least 50 emails, most from my freshmen students, who I adore. I wasn't excited about teaching freshmen again but I've got to tell you, they are such a blessing.

Time for me to get ready for the get together at Jose's. Just wanted to post something before the weekend. Even the weather is going to cooperate, I hear.
