I'm just procrastinating right now. I'm supposed to be working in Blackboard today but I'm having technical problems. I use two different Blackboards. One is working and one is down, I guess for maintenance. So, before I put another load in the washer I thought I would post about nothing. I've done all the work I can possibly do in the Blackboard that is working. Blackboard is a software I use for my online classes and when it doesn't work, I'm not able to teach my classes. Of course, I have other work to do so I will just work on the other things I have on my "To Do" list...like work on some program/curriculum changes, advising, and placement of student teachers.
Yesterday Jessica, Anna Claire, Bennett and I were at the Firestone place having Jessica's car worked on. Anna Claire and I were outside talking. She said "Ma, if someone tries to get me I will run to a fireman, policeman, or a librarian." Cute. Then she asked, "Ma, if I'm walking down the street like this and get lost, should I just go in a store like this and tell them I am lost?" Again, cute. I did tell her that would be fine but to go to someone working behind the counter or desk...not someone sitting in the chairs in the lobby unless that's the only people in the store. This may have confused her. :(
We (Jessica, Anna Claire, Bennett and me) spent hours looking for crickets in the grass. It's amazing what you will do to pass the time when you have two small children and you are waiting on your car to be fixed. Both kids missed their afternoon naps and had their lunch on the floor at the Firestone store. Ugh! No choice, though. I guess that isn't as bad as the time we were at the Cotton Bowl and Brent had to have emergency surgery in a Dallas, Texas City Hospital (clean...NO!). A nurse came up to me and said "Mam, I don't think I would let my son lay down on the floor." Shane was laying down on the floor next to Brent in the City Hospital in the emergency room! Major UGH! He didn't get any diseases so I guess my grandchildren sitting on the floor having lunch at the Firestone place wasn't quite as bad as it sounds.
They were finally able to get on the road late yesterday. Yesterday was Brent's birthday and he was in Norman waiting on the rest of his family so that he could celebrate his birthday. I'm not sure how much celebrating they got to do, considering the time Jessica and the kids left Arkansas.
