Date Night

Anna Claire and Granddad had their first date tonight. They went to the Razorback game. As soon as they got to the basketball arena they got pizza. Gary said she ate an entire pizza. Then Anna Claire said she ate popcorn. Gary said she must have eaten popcorn when he wasn't looking.

I asked her what the game was like. She said she watched the cheerleaders and she showed us how to call the hogs with her pom poms. She also said she was going to be a cheerleader when she got older.

Fifteen minutes after the game started she said "Granddad, I'm ready to go now." It took 45 minutes to get to the game. Granddad wanted her to have a good time on their date so he said okay. So...they drove 45 minutes to a game and stayed 15 minutes. Then, they got bottled water. That was a big deal because Anna Claire usually drinks out of a sippy cup. Gary said that didn't go over quite as he had expected. It's hard to drink bottled water if that isn't the way you normally do.

Then, on the way home they stopped for chocolate ice cream. Anna Claire walked in the house with a brown face from all the ice cream.

She was so hyper and excited. She was showing us how to cheer. She said she had sooo much fun on her date with Granddad. Granddad watched the game on tv!

Very successful first date! I have a feeling there will be more to come.
