Memorial Day Weekend 2010

This was a sight! Their (Sancy and Johnny's) trailer and our trailer...side by side. We woke up every morning and had coffee together outside overlooking the river. The day started with coffee, eggs, bacon, biscuits and steak (left over from the night before).

Gary and a fish he caught. I do need to mention that I never saw this fish. Johnny took the picture. I am doubting Gary really caught this even though he has this picture. It is either store bought or a stuffed fish he bought in a store around here, I think. Gary had me to go to town and buy some fish batter. We never needed it.

We had an amazing time this weekend. Lots of conversation, church (Sancy and Johnny's former pastor), relaxing, and eating!

After Gary got off work Friday we left for Norfork to camp on Sancy and Johnny's lot on the river. They left to go to Norfork Friday also. We arrived a couple of hours after they did, which worked out perfect.

Did I mention we ate a lot? Three meals a day.....we even had dessert of chocolate tequila balls from Mexico. Actually, the only food we forgot was dessert. So, we improvised with a gift Gary received from someone he works with that had been to Mexico.

The scenery was breathtaking. I brought several books to read but I never read a page. The view was too glorious to spend time reading.

Johnny planting some bushes, I think. Sancy and I planted bulbs along the landing at the top of the bank.

We did not plan our outfit this day!

We took a river boat ride and made it half way to Calico Rock. I wish I had taken a picture of Sancy "facebooking." She with her iPhone and Gary with his iPod! Gary was the entertainment director and kept us supplied with his iPod of 5,000 songs and wood in the firepit. John, you really should have been here bonding with your sisters! You need to buy an RV and join us. We can have our own RV club!

I thought the wonderful weekend was going to end a little stressful. We spent an hour looking for the trailer keys to Sancy and Johnny's trailer. Long story short, they were in the pocket of Sancy's shorts that she wore Friday. I told her not to tell Johnny that she had them all along.

I'm ready to go back. At night we would sit and talk, listen to nature, and try to guess the name of the "things" falling from the trees.

Let's see if I can remember....

Friday night - fire, laughter, Johnny sounding like an owl trying to rouse the "neighbors"

Saturday - shopping in Mountain Home, lounging, fire, laughter, Johnny trying to sound like an owl to rouse the "neighbors"...Gary, Betsy and Sancy joining in the owl hoots

Sunday - church, Walmart to buy picture hangers for a decorating project in the RV, boat ride, lounging, all of us trying to hoot like an owl, watching fireworks

Monday - spending an hour looking for trailer keys and Johnny just getting so mad at himself for losing the keys...Sancy had keys all the time and didn't know it...PRICELESS.
