The most amazing person in my life is my mother. She has had a huge influence on every decision I have ever made. She has been a part of every major event in her family's life. She's always there for us and always gives us her unconditional love.
Mother, you have taught me how to be a mother and grandmother. There are so many things you have taught me through the years.
When we lived in Bentonville you told me that if I would tell the boys that they had to read the Bible just 15 minutes every night they would read it for much longer. The reasoning is 15 minutes didn't sound very long at all but it's hard to read something for only 15 minutes. Boy, you were so right! They both would read the Bible every night before bed at least an hour.
When the boys started school you told me that the first 15 minutes in the morning and the first 15 minutes when they got home from school were the most important. That would be when they would be willing to share information with me. That bit of advice turned out to be so "on target." I made a point to always pick them up from school and we enjoyed the ride home so much.
Your generous actions showed how much you value education for your children and grandchildren. I am trying so hard to follow in your footsteps with my children and grandchildren.
I have watched you over the years serve others. You are such a servant of the Lord. I know I fall below your standard in this area but I'm working on it.
You have always been there to listen to me, good times and bad. You have taught me the importance of family. You are my role model in life. I love the way you love your family and how you make the Christmases so special. I can't wait until Anna Claire and Bennett are old enough to write about their favorite Christmas. They will probably also receive "Good Grandchildren" scholarships! Just wait until they start Kindergarten....I bet they receive pencils with their names on them....year after year after year!
Mother, you have created so many memories in my life. I can't even begin to put them all in writing. I just want you to know, I'm trying very hard to be just like you!
Happy Mother's Day....I love you more than you'll ever know.
Betsy
