Jill and Patrick were visiting this past weekend. Patrick's team was in the state championship tournament. Before I write anything else, Congratulations Patrick!!! His team won the state championship. On Sunday he played three back to back games.

Anna Claire and Bennett at ball park June 27, 2010. Anna Claire asked me if girls played baseball. I told her they did but it was called softball. She told me she was going to play soccer. After we got home she showed me how to play soccer. Anna Claire took her cheer pom poms to the baseball game and yelled "Go Patrick." Patrick said he heard her yell for him.

Bennett had a baseball on his outfit. When people stopped and said "Oh, I like your outfit" he pointed to the baseball and said "Baseball...right there."

They knew they were going to a baseball game to watch Patrick play. Once Patrick was up to bat, I guess they thought that was it. As soon as he hit the ball all we heard was "I'm ready to go home now." They never understood that he would be up to bat again.

Anna Claire and Patrick both painted a sailboat on water.

We took the travel trailer to the lake. One afternoon when Patrick didn't have a game we all went to the lake. Patrick climbed on top of the bunk beds and when Anna Claire opened the door he tried to scare her.

Anna Claire and Ma had on matching ballcaps when the game started. That didn't last long.

Yesterday (June 27, 2010) while Bennett was taking a nap Anna Claire and I went shopping. While we were at Florida Anna Claire and I had our beach shoes either lost or stolen. Anna Claire told me that we didn't need to call the police if they were stolen but she said in her exact words yesterday "Now, Ma..if they had stolen mousey or pink blankie we would have had to call the police because that would be serious. Pink blankie and mousey are special."

We had a wonderful time. She got three pair of new shoes, two outfits, a lamb, and a sparkly glass to replace the one pair of Walmart flip flops that were lost. I got two new pair of shoes. My shoes that were lost (or stolen) were also from Walmart. We didn't do too bad shopping! We also stopped for ice cream cones on the way home.

Bennett caught the football!

This was a proud moment in Gary's life. He is teaching his two-year old grandson how to throw a football. Bennett is not wearing just any football helmet. You can't buy this football helmet at Walmart. This was Brent's football helmet and it's the real thing. Brent wore it in Kiwanis little football.

Anna Claire and Bennett had so much fun with Patrick. We missed the championship game. Out of all the games to miss I can't believe I missed that one! I'm so proud of Patrick.

This really was a great weekend. Anna Claire and I worked out again, played with Callie the turtle, went shopping, and told stories. Gary and Bennett played sports, all sports. Bennett is very intense with his playing. He tries so hard and he is such a quick learner. I bet if he asked once "Ma, where's Daddy?" he asked a thousand times. At least ten times a day "Ma, where's Daddy?"

Jessica had made the kids little gift packages for each day she and Brent were gone. I need to tell her that Anna Claire counted how many gifts were in Bennett's package each and she compared it to her's. One day she got a sippy straw, lipstick and nail polish. Bennett got a sippy straw and a frog. Anna Claire noticed she had more gifts than Bennett. But...today Bennett got another sippy straw but two little guns and she got paint. So, Bennett got more than her and she talked about that for a while. But, Anna Claire was just as concerned if Bennett did not receive the same number of gifts as her.

I'm scared of animals...all animals. Anna Claire told me that I just needed to touch an animal and then I wouldn't be scared anymore. She said that she would help me.

Once Bennett was asking for his pacifier when he didn't need to have it. I told Anna Claire "Don't tell Bennett where the "p" "a" "c" "i" is." Bennett looked at me and said "Paci?"

When Anna Claire and I were shopping she asked me what grade Patrick was in. She asked "Kindergarten or First Grade?" I told her maybe Kindergarten. She told me she was in first grade.

Also, while shopping, she asked me how old I was. I told her and then she asked me how old Granddad was. I made him a little older and gave the same age as me. She said "But Ma, he has to be older than you, he's taller."

One night Anna Claire told me she wanted to pay the game that had balls in a cage. I had absolutely no idea what she was talking about. She kept describing the game to me and I still was clueless. I asked her to show me where it was because I didn't know what she was talking about. She told me it was in my attic!!! She also told me my attic was hot! My attic is very easy to get to. It's a walk in attic but I still don't know when she was in it looking around. Now, back to the game. It was BINGO! She LOVES playing Bingo. I had bought the game to play with Gary's mom to stimulate her mind. I never even thought about Anna Claire playing it!
