What a weekend! Priceless! I hope Brent, Jessica, Anna Claire and Bennett had as much fun as Gary and I did. We weren't sure when we left that it would be such a good weekend. Gary and I drove to Norman Friday night and then Saturday morning around 8:30 a.m. we were all planning on leaving for Dallas for the University of Arkansas vs. Texas A & M football game at Cowboy Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Jessica got both kids dressed. Anna Claire in her Razorback cheerleader outfit and Bennett in his Razorback football uniform. Jersey and pants...the works. Then, Bennett threw up all over the place. Twice.
We debated on what to do. After all, we were needing to leave by 9:00 a.m. at the latest. I offered to stay home with Bennett. Jessica said she would. No one wanted to leave Bennett behind, especially his Daddy and Granddad. Mommy and Ma were very unsure about taking Bennett. The men won out. We packed several towels and kinda covered Bennett with them for when he threw up in the car!
The plans were if he kept throwing up then someone would stay with him at the motel. All Jessica and I could think about was how miserable this little two-year old would be. All I can say is, thank goodness we took him. He did not throw up again until we made it back to Norman on Sunday. And then, it was just a little.
We made it to Cowboy Stadium around noon on Saturday. Fortunately, we had great parking. Right at the stadium. The biggest disappointment was the food. Everything was greasy. One bottled water was $5 (we probably spent $50 on water!), a gross ham and cheese sandwich was $7.50. Gary got a drink in a Cowboy glass and it was $10. Everything was way overpriced. Don't eat at the stadium. There are eating places all around. We didn't know better.
During pre-game activities Bennett said "Ma, I'm ready to go home." We expected that! The great thing about this stadium is there are places to go with young kids everywhere. It was perfect! Big screens are everywhere so if you do want to go out in the atrium you can still see the game while the little ones play or nap.
Anna Claire enjoyed cheering for Granddad so he could take pictures! That was a shock. She insisted that I sit next to her and hold the Go Hogs sign while she cheered. She took "Cheer Cheer" to the game. Cheer Cheer is the Razorback cheerleader doll. Bennett took his football helmet to the game.
I ran into Paula and her family and granddaughters. They were two rows above us! Paula took this picture of me with the kids.

The kids were so great! We all had a blast! After the game we stopped at Chili's for dinner before heading to the motel. Everyone was so tired but it was nice to just go in a cool place and sit down.
The next morning Bennett and Granddad went to breakfast together. That is their tradition and their time together.
Bennett drank lots of orange juice. He insisted that I get him more orange juice but he wanted it to come out of the apple juice dispenser. He just would not listen to me when I kept saying "But, Bennett, that's not orange juice, it's apple juice." Finally, I gave up trying to convince him so I poured him some "orange" juice out of the apple juice dispenser. He took one sip and asked "Ma, is THIS orange juice?" I told him it was apple juice. He said "I don't want apple juice, I want orange juice." I knew that but he is so stubborn. So, I wasted a glass of apple juice and got him some orange juice.
We load up in the car and start to drive out of the parking lot. Anna Claire wants orange juice. So, we stop again and Jessica gets out to get Anna Claire some orange juice. I honestly thought it was going to take us 30 minutes just to get out of the parking lot.
We make it back to Norman by noon. Anna Claire has a 1:00 p.m. soccer game. She did great at the game! I was so proud of her.
