Bennett anxiously awaiting the lighting of the cake. He had a baseball themed cake; only because I thought he wanted baseball stuff for his birthday but the day before it changed to tractors.
Brent and Jessica's friends were also with us at the cabin. Here is Anna Claire with one of the party favors.
Bennett is very happy eating his cookie.
Anna Claire, Sommer, Avery, Jolie and Bennett. Micah holding Kiyah in the background.
During the winter months we keep the travel trailer next to the cabin. The kids LOVE going to the travel trailer. It is stocked with snacks, toys and crafts. Micah and Sarah's girls especially love going to the travel trailer. Here is Sommer and Anna Claire playing dress up.
Anna Claire all "dressed up."
The kids playing on the back porch at the cabin.
Bennett is putting a "worm" in the net.
Bennett and Anna Claire in the travel trailer playing with the iPad.
Granddad took Bennett fishing. He also took him hunting. Bennett got a "gun" for Christmas and couldn't wait to go hunting with Granddad to shoot a reindeer. He told me he was going to make deer sausage with it.
Bennett had just been told that Granddad and Ma were leaving. He snuggled up to me and wouldn't leave. He said "I don't want you to go Ma. When can I come to your house?" I told him we would come see him after Spring Break. He said that was too long.
Ma messing around outside the travel trailer.
Anna Claire got some new sandals. Ma is helping her put them on and then she was going to play with some Silly String.
Bennett in his bed in the travel trailer. He loves his bed! He loves the travel trailer. The minute we walked in it he said "We need music." I told him I didn't know how to work the built in stereo. He said "Granddad knows how." I asked him what kind of music he wanted to listen to and I gave examples; such as, pop, rock, rap. He replied "Blessed Be The Name." He started singing the song and he knows every word.
Anna Claire and Bennett on the top bunk. The love turning the lights on and off.
Bennett and Granddad found a turtle shell while they were hunting.
I have a picture of Brent with a fish. It is on my iPhone and I will add it tomorrow. Jessica told me "Now don't put any of the pictures with me in them in Facebook." I am assuming she also means the blog. She is due any second. She looks beautiful pregnant but I don't have any pictures of her pregnant.
Saturday night Anna Claire, Sommer and Bennett were taking a bath. We were saying the ages of all the kids. Sommer asked me how old I was. I told her "56." She shouted "That's old!" Anna Claire, gosh I love that girl, looked at Sommer and kinda upset said "Sommer, Ma's not old. She's new." Bennett couldn't help but chime in and he shouted "Aw, Ma's OLD! Ma...your OLD!" Anna Claire, in a mad voice, said "Bennett, don't talk like that. Ma is NOT old. She's BRAND NEW.....aren't you Ma?" I swear Anna Claire was getting ready to cry.
Bennett loves me just as much but he has his Daddy's sense of humor. He lives to give me a hard time. He did keep coming up to me and asking "Ma, when can I come to your house?" I have a good video of Bennett telling me about hunting and then he stops and says "I love you" and he starts walking toward me to hug me. I had to turn the video off. I'll add it tomorrow.
Brent, Micah and Gary were able to get some fishing in. Jessica and Sarah organized the kitchen cabinets. I played with Bennett most of the time. Anna Claire had her friends and she really just wanted me to be near but she wanted to play with the friends. It worked out great because I got a ton of one on one time in with Bennett.
I got Anna Claire a purple horse in Louisville, Kentucky when I went to visit Jess. Anna Claire was so impressed there was another state and it was called Kentucky.
When we left Jessica was asking us about our trip. Anna Claire asked where we were going and we said Mexico. She said in a quite voice....are you going on an airplane? Jessica told her we were and she said "I don't want Ma and Granddad to go on a plane." She was so worried about us.
I can't wait for Gary to retire (July 1st!!!!) so that we can stay longer than a weekend!
