Anna Claire, Presley and Bennett March 30 - April 3, 2011

What a great week for grandparents! Tuesday night I drove to Norman, OK and came home Wednesday morning with Anna Claire and Bennett. Friday night Gary and I drove the kids home and then we came home today, Sunday.

Bennett asked me why I had a yellow ribbon around the tree. I explained that Shane was fighting the Taliban. Shane asked me if he had a sword. He said he didn't have one but Anna Claire did and Anna Claire said Shane could have her sword. Then, Anna Claire got so sad and said "Ma, is Shane scared?" I told her that sometimes he was. Bennett yelled "I not scared!" I heard him tell his Mommy that "Shane is fighting the Taliban." Bennett asked me "Ma, is Shane a good guy or bad guy?" I told him Shane was a good guy. He said "Oh good, Ma. I'm glad Shane is a good guy...Aren't you Sissy?"

Gary took Bennett to a track meet, soccer game, and baseball game. Bennett couldn't understand why the boys didn't tackle each other at the track meet. He said they "ran fast."

We went to a fundraiser one night and on the way home Bennett sang the entire song "Blessed Be the Name of the Lord" for us. Verse by verse. It was beautiful!

Bennett and Anna Claire had a lot of Presley time! There was a lot of hugging going on. Bennett and Presley at Toys R Us. Bennett kept saying "Presley is funny." He told Jessica when he got home "Mandy's nice." He told me Friday morning "Ma, you're rude." I asked him why and he wouldn't tell me. He finally told me I yelled at him. I know one thing, I have NEVER yelled at these kids. I laughed and he smiled.

Presley doesn't know what to think of all the hugging. This picture was taken at Barnes and Noble. Anna Claire wanted to be "in charge" of Presley so bad. At Chick Fil A I had to go get some silverware and Anna Claire asked "Ma, can you put me in charge?"

We are leaving Barnes and Noble and I asked all three kids to smile. Thanks Bennett! Randomly though he says "Ma...I love you." Anna Claire told me she loved me in her heart and out of her heart but that she loves God more.

Now Presley has the hugging down pat!

When I asked Bennett to smile and he wouldn't I gave him the same look back. Now he is smiling but look at Presley!

We also made it to Chuckee Cheese. Anna Claire took care of Presley.

Bennett rode this horse at least 20 times. He would ask me to pet the horse feathers!

Presley and Anna Claire eating pizza at Chuckee Cheese. I don't think Anna Claire ate anything. She is too busy being "in charge" of Presley.

All I really want is one picture of all the kids with me smiling. I really want a good picture to put in a frame and place it on top of the piano. Bennett ran off when I said "Let's take a picture" and Anna Claire responded "OKAY! I will stand in the picture but I will NOT smile!"

Presley had so much fun with Anna Claire and Bennett. Anna Claire never left her side.

Anna Claire kept wanting to sit in the booth with Presley for a portrait drawing. I finally figured out why. As we were leaving there were about five pictures of Anna Claire and Presley and one of Presley and Mandy. Anna Claire wanted to keep all of them. I said "Anna Claire, why don't you give Mandy the picture of her and Presley." Anna Claire said "Noooooo." I asked why. She said "But what if I forget what she looks like?" Anna Claire wanted ALL the pictures so that she would not forget what Mandy and Presley look like.

When Anna Claire and Presley rode this car Presley sat in Anna Claire's lap. Bennett wanted Presley to sit on his lap but she wouldn't.

The morning before we left to go back to Norman. We went by Presley's house to tell her bye.

The first thing the kids noticed when they got to my house on Wednesday was that it was not decorated for Easter. Of course, their house looks beautiful with all the Easter stuff. I bought some plaster eggs and they painted eggs for me.

Anna Claire asked me "Ma, now that I am almost five can I start acting five now?"

We also made Easter cookies. Bennett ate more dough than what he put on the pan. I told him it was raw dough and it would make him sick. He started laughing and calling me "dough Ma." He kept saying over and over "Ma...you're dough Ma...dough Ma!"

Bennett decorated only one cookie and then said "I'm through."

I gave them a plastic plate each and they painted plates for me also. Now my house is decorated!

This is Anna Claire's work! She is very precise and careful. Her bowl only has 3 eggs.

Anna Claire saved three eggs. She said they were not hatched yet.

This is Bennett's work. I thought he did an excellent job. He had finished six eggs before Anna Claire had one completed. He spent maybe five minutes on all of his art work.

Friday evening going back to Oklahoma. The kids got so silly. One blog is just a video of them. We laughed all the way home. Brent said it took us five hours to get home. I thought it was 4 1/2 hours. It should have only taken 4 hours. We played "I Spy", "Animal Sounds" and a ton of silly things that have no names.

We stopped by a garage sale that Jessica was helping with on Saturday morning. The kids bought cotton candy and lemonade. I think this was Anna Claire's first time to taste cotton candy. She didn't care for it. Bennett did.

Anna Claire and Brent had a dance recital practice Saturday morning. It's all a secret. Anna Claire can't tell us the dance moves that she and Daddy are learning. She did tell me that one dance move the teacher Miss Kim tells them  not to do it like a monster. She is teaching Daddy how to twirl.

Gary and Bennett having some guy time. Bennett fell on his face on the carpet and got a carpet burn. While we were saying prayers in bed he asked me to pray for his cheek. I said "Dear Jesus, Bennett fell on the carpet in the den and..." Bennett interrupted me "No Ma, it's the LIVING ROOM." I start my prayer all over again. "Dear Jesus, Bennett fell on the carpet in the living room and hurt his..." Interrupted AGAIN! "No, Ma, I was walking over sissy, I didn't fall." I start over again. "Dear Jesus, please make Bennett's cheek feel better. Amen!" The next morning the first thing Bennett said was "Ma, my cheek already feels better." Thank you, Lord!

Bennett loves football. He also loves Stu Mo. He likes to pretend he is at Stu Mo. We shut the door, turn off the lights, Ma has to be quite, and then he blares it on the guitar or drums and sings "Blessed Be the Name of the Lord." You should hear him when he sings the word Glorious. He gives me quite an emphasis. He knows every single word. So does Anna Claire. They were both singing it for me "at Stu Mo" this morning.
