Gary and I had an eventful trip to southeast Arkansas on Friday, September 28th. We were in the truck pulling a trailer with a four-wheeler on it. About 20 miles from Pine Bluff the trailer had a flat. We had just enough air to make it to Dayton's Tire in Pine Bluff. Two new tires later we headed to Dumas.
Friday night my aunt Anna Johnson came over. We went to Anna's gift shop and bought a few pieces of Shawn's pottery and some Life is Good shirts. Later, we went by Anna's house to see Uncle Pat and my cousin, Shawn.
And then, much later, John and Patrick arrived. I didn't see them until the next morning. William was in Fayetteville (college) and Jill had a girls' weekend (yes, I'm jealous!).
Gary and Sid enjoying a stroll.
It was so good seeing for myself how good Mother is doing. She is amazing. A week ago she had a breast removed. Other than not having energy (she says...but I thought she had a lot of energy!) she is feeling great. On Saturday, after a morning of computer work, she and I headed to the camp at Collins. Gary, Jack, Patrick and John were already there.
Betsy and her mother, Peggy Carey.
Betsy, Nana (Peggy Carey), and John. Today, Saturday, September 29th, is his birthday.
Betsy and her brother, John Ogles. He turned 51 years old. He is still my baby brother and to know that he is 51 years old...well, I'm not happy about that.
John riding the mule to check on the land.
Patrick's school picture. He is in the 10th grade.

We had a birthday party for John. No, he wasn't turning 60. The napkins were left overs from Johnny's birthday! We are a frugal family! Sancy made a red (pink) velvet cake. It was delicious. She is the cook in the family. She also made gumbo for supper. I made pepper jelly and put it on cream cheese and served it with crackers.
John blowing out the candles. Mother (Peggy Carey), Jack, Patrick, Betsy and John. Gary was taking the picture. Sancy doesn't "do" pictures.

Gary and I left Sunday to go back home. In McGehee we stopped by to see Mandy and leave some presents for Presley. Presley was at her grandparent's house so we didn't get to see her. Mandy did send me the cutest video of Presley opening her presents from us.
