Time With the Grandkids Again! Playing School, Barnes and Noble

Gary and I went to Norman this weekend. Jessica had a wive's retreat and I guess Gary and I thought Brent couldn't handle the kids all alone! ha! We are very good at finding excuses to help out with the kids so often!

Saturday we went to Barnes and Noble. Anna Claire and Brent read books and Bennett roamed around. I was left alone with Bennett for maybe two minutes and in that time he managed to fall off the step and bust his lip. There was blood. Anna Claire was so worried. I begged Brent not to tell Jessica until she got home.

Remember how Anna Claire doesn't like strangers? Well, you can't say that about Bennett. He's never met a stranger. Here is a picture of one stranger that Bennett crawled to.

Anna Claire found a boat she wanted at Bass Pro. I was interested until Brent told me the price tag. Only a mere $34,000!

Sunday morning I was getting dressed. I don't think my hair has even been brushed in this picture. I certainly did not have on makeup. Anna Claire wanted me to sit in bed with her and watch Elmo on my laptop. We did this the day before but I used my projector and we pretended we were at the movies. We sat on her bed and the cartoon "Elmo" was projected like a movie screen on her wall. Bennett crawled in the bedroom and he wanted to sit on my lap and watch also. Several times Saturday we played school. This is just a small clip and not the "best playing school" video. The cutest was when I (Teacher) asked the students (Anna Claire and Granddad) "What time is it students?" Anna Claire raised her hand and said "It's daytime teacher." Later she lined up all her stuffed animals so that they could be students also.

I am happy to see that Bennett likes "Thomas the Train Engine" and all his friends. Our grandson Nate has always loved them as well.

After raising two boys I shouldn't think that a split lip would phase you at all, but I remember that our daughters always seemed to break out in spots, jump in a mud puddle, or something of that sort whenever they went to visit grandma. God's sense of humor ... We just have to grin and bear it.
