AND THEY'RE OFF.....

We had a nice weekend at the races. We were with two other couples and one couple had a vacation lake home right on the lake (Lake Hamilton) in Hot Springs. I came home with an empty purse but Gary did all right.

Well now, let me tell you a little bit about our weekend. The lake home was NICE! You know, I have a vacation home too. It's on wheels and moves. This home, well, it had a 50 inch tv, fully stocked bar, three bedrooms, game room with four Murphy full size beds, huge deck, two boat docks, should I continue? We got there Friday night and stayed up late visiting. The other couple that went was a younger couple and they were the sweetest couple I've ever been around. Both couples were great!

Now, the races! I didn't know in advance but we were sitting in the Racing Commissioner's box. Does the racing commissioner have perks? You bet. The box was right at the finish line. You can not have a better box. It is the box that the former governor Mike Huckaby used. I guess he still uses it because his name is also on the box. Talk about a 50-yard line view! I've sat at many places at the race track but none right on the finish line.

Okay, you are dying to know how much I won. Well, I won $4.60. I also was only in the hole close to $10 for the day. I don't even know how much Gary won. (Actually, I do. He came out around $60 ahead. :) In fact, as I am writing he has gone shopping at Sportsman's Warehouse. He didn't win THAT MUCH but he won enough to go shopping.

That's my weekend. I don't mind weekends like that. We are getting the travel trailer stocked this week because Brent and his family will be going camping with us Thursday and Friday. I'm trying to come up with a better idea for a sleeping arrangement for Bennett. I think I'm close but I'm still working on it. UPDATE: Gary just told me we were going to Eureka Springs for the weekend. I'm glad. There will be plenty for the kids to do there. I'll do some research and find some fun things to do! Gary bought Anna Claire a fishing pole so I hope "they" get to do some fishing. I'll take pictures!
