We left the house around 11:30 a.m. to stop at Sonic for cheese sandwiches. Will, my nephew, had a baseball game at 1:00 p.m. at Baum Stadium. That is the stadium where the Razorbacks play.
We arrived at Baum Stadium around 1:00 p.m. Anna Claire told me that when it got dark I needed to take out the GPS because strangers will sneak in my car and get it. This morning she took the play money out of her play cash register and gave it to Gary to keep for her so that she could give it to Jesus.
Anyway, back to the game. I took toys for the kids because I figured they would never last at the game. In fact, I told my brother that we may only stay 15 minutes. We watched the entire game and did not leave one minute earlier.
Bennett would have stayed and watched the second game if we had let him. He never played with his toys. Not once. His eyes were fixated on the game from 1:00 - 3:30. Brent, he knows the difference between plastic baby toy baseballs and baseball bats and the real thing. He will not have anything to do with plastic baby toys. Patrick gave him a real ball, against my advice, but I'm sending it home with you.
These pictures were taken in 30 minute intervals. Once I thought Bennett had a heat rash so I took his shorts off. I'm pretty sure he did but all he wanted to do was watch baseball. You know these pictures are taken in intervals because in every picture Bennett is in a different location, depending on where Gary was standing. He was never far from Gary.

Now, just in case you are wondering where Anna Claire is...this is what she did all afternoon with her back to the game! And she and I did a lot of walking up and down the aisles and checking out a lot of the seats. On the way home I asked her if she knew she had been to a baseball game. Her reply was "No." I asked her if she was ready to go home and she said "No" so I know she had fun!
I know I always say "You've got to see this video." Trust me, you've got to see it. First, Patrick always does this to his hair once every summer for at least a couple of weeks. Second, Patrick gave Bennett this baseball. I asked him not to because everything in my house would be broken. Bennett held on to this ball all the way home. He slept on the way home with a hold on the ball. Now, here's the best part. Everytime the music came on, no matter where he was or what he was doing, he did this. People were standing around watching and laughing and saying "I've never seen anything like this." He knew he had an audience and you can tell.
UPDATE ------- I was very wrong about Anna Claire not knowing we were at a baseball game. Tonight we were in bed talking and I asked her what she liked about the baseball game. She replied "The baseball players." I said "What? What did you like about the baseball players?" She said "When they would run they would fall down (i.e. they were sliding into base). I thought that was funny." Then she said "Also, when they hit the ball it was loud." So, she realized more than what I gave her credit.
