Quick Trip to Kentucky

Doesn't get any quicker than this. We left Friday afternoon at 1:00 p.m., drove through Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, and then Kentucky. Spent the night in Louisville and then arrived in Lexington the next morning. We were pulling a U-haul with furniture and other stuff so our time schedule was a little slower than usual.

Left this morning at 7:00 a.m. central time and arrived home at 5:30 p.m. today. We could have made it home sooner but we stopped about an hour down the road for real coffee. I could not drink any more gas station coffee so I typed in "Starbucks" on the GPS and we were nearby. Gary said "Are we really going to spend 20 minutes extra for high-priced coffee?" I said "Yes." Then we got lost in Springfield, MO trying to find "Camping World," which we never found.

All of yesterday was spent unpacking, lining shelves with shelf liner, and telling the soon-to-be newlyweds "it will be allright." They, most certainly, did not realize all the "stuff" they have accumulated over the years.

We do have a few instances that we will always remember....the famous silver wine glasses. I brought them with me to show Jess and Shane. Well, let's just say, I'll be at a jewelry shop tomorrow to see if anything can be done. Worse things have happened, that's for sure. But, my husband does not recognize fine silver. That's all I'll say about that.

We had a great time! It was fun and we had many laughs. They have the cutest apartment! We drove by the law school and it is huge!

We are home now. Just a little tired but talking about when we'll go again.

By the way, I did take my camera but forgot the memory card. I know Jess and Shane assumed I wouldn't post anything on my blog without pics. Sorry kids!

Sounds as if the two of you need a day off from your weekend adventure. A great blog despite the lack of photographs.
