FUN IN THE SUN (LAKE)

We had the best time today. Everyone had so much fun. Are we all worn out? Absolutely, Yes!

We left the house at 10:45 a.m. this morning. We have a place reserved right on the shore at Beaver Lake, Lost Bridge South Park. First, we had lunch (courtesy of Sonic) and then loaded on the boat. When Brent told Anna Claire we were going boat riding she said she didn't want to ride in the boat. Brent asked her "Do you want to go to the camper?" She yelled "Yes!" She also asked if we would see any beavers at Beaver Lake. Smart girl. Both kids loved riding in the boat, especially when it went fast.

I have a video of Brent skiing that I'm having problems posting. It's not clear...I don't know when I'll learn how to use this camera. I go to a seminar on how to use a Nikon D90 Tuesday night.

Bennett is keeping an eye on Gary. He is wanting to steer the boat. He eventually does.

Bennett Steering the Boat
He had lots of fun honking the horn.

Jessica asked "Who wants to take swimming lessons next summer?" Bennett raised his hand and yelled "Ay"

Relaxing

Anna Claire, Bennett and Gary
I have this floppy hat that I call my "lake hat or pool hat." It doesn't blow off and it keeps the sun out of my face. It's the cheapest hat in the world. I bought it at the Farmer's Coop. Anna Claire LOVES it! She asked if she could wear (have) it. I said okay. After she put it on she asked "Ma, do I look like Strawberry Shortcake?" All afternoon she told me she was Strawberry Shortcake. Bennett even tried it on a couple of times.

You know Anna Claire doesn't like her picture taken. In this picture she had just asked me to take her picture in her Strawberry Shortcake hat. She was actually looking at the camera and smiling but me with my camera skills couldn't seem to work the camera at the same time she is looking at it.

Brent and Jessica left to go to the house around 4:30 p.m. The kids stayed at the lake with Gary and me. Anna Claire was Granddad's little helper. She helped him fold and put up beach towels, put up the ski rope, and take out all of the life jackets and put them in the truck.

We played at the park for a long time. We were supposed to meet Brent and Jessica at the house around 8:00 p.m. On the ride home Anna Claire fell asleep. She ended up going to my bed with her swim suit still on. You could not budge her. She was out! She never even woke up when we went to a place for take out for supper. Bennett had a great nap in the trailer and he was wide awake.

Bennett is starting to get like Anna Claire about the camper. They played the longest on their own bed in the bunk room. Anna Claire did tell me that Bennett needed a boy bed. So, I guess I need something sports or cowboy related for bedding for his bed. Somehow he knew which bed was his and which bed was his Sis's. They had so much fun turning their own little light on and off and moving their pillows around. Then, they went to the sofa in the den and looked out the window at people.

Now that Bennett loves it also I hope we can have them more often to go camping with us. As long as we take some balls for Bennett he is happy.
