The faculty in my program area cooked hamburgers for our students. My job was to supervise the cooking and I did a very good job.
This is my very good friend, Dr. Thompson. She was already at the U of A in 1989 when I started and I know for a fact I would not have gotten promotion and tenure without her help. Except for the five years I was in administration, I have talked to her every week. She has a second home in Hawaii and I keep telling her we need to have a research meeting at her home in Hawaii.

This is where I work. My office is on the bottom floor, corner office. Very spacious and nicely decorated but I am in the process of moving out of it. Most of my personal belongings are home now waiting on Jess and Jessica to go through and get what they want. We are renovating Peabody Hall and it will take 18 months. During the 18 months the faculty are moving to Phoenix House, which is right next to a fraternity. The fraternity's volleyball pit is right next to our building. We are wondering how this will turn out next year. College professors and frat boys. Umm. Jokingly, one day I mentioned that maybe I will spend more time in my office on campus now. Again, keep in mind, I'm only joking. Colleagues have had fun with that comment to say the least.

The weather is getting cooler. Football season is in full swing. The football team is doing good, I think. Research manuscript accepted for publication, with minor revisions. Online classes on auto pilot. Son and family coming for the weekend. Just got back visiting youngest son and his wife. Husband into healthy eating. Can't complain.

Betsy,
What a nice post - we get to see where you work, and to hear that you professors are awesome people.
As long as there are windows in your new office things should be just fine. I mean really, how many women get to watch college guys play volleyball at work? :)
Really though, I hope it works out ok.
Blessings my friend.
Sue
