Unexpected Pleasures

Nothing is better than to have a nice long visit with a good friend. I decided to visit Amy last night. The drive revealed fall colors along the highway as I listened to XM radio. It's almost an hour drive from my house and I really enjoy that time to reflect on just about everything. During this particular drive my mind and prayers were on Matt. He has the flu but I hear he is doing better today.

I made one stop and that was to pick up Kaidence at the babysitter's. She wanted ice cream for supper so we made a deal....eat your chicken nuggets and french fries and then you can have ice cream. I forgot that Braum's chicken nuggets are not the kind she likes. So, french fries it was. I ate the nuggets. Then, a strawberry ice cream cone.

After a nice long visit, I was getting ready to leave. I could tell Kaidence was assuming that she was leaving with me. I told her I needed to go home but she was staying. She was on the verge of a fit so I told Amy I could take her home and bring her back to the sitter's tomorrow (which right now...is today). That worked. Wish I didn't have meetings today!

She got a "My First Scooter" from Gary and me for her birthday. Since Gary put it together and she saw him do that she kept telling me that it was Gary that gave her the scooter. Guess I better go buy her a birthday present from Betsy!

Afterthought. I just decided to write about something cute that Kaidy did for the future when I want to go back and read about fun times.

Kaidence usually has to wake up very, very early to go to the babysitter's. This morning she woke up early, sat up in bed, looked at me and then laid back down. She put her hands on my face and pulled my face to within half an inch of her nose. Then she moved my hand over her waist and stomach and immediately went right back to a deep sleep. The way she positioned my hand over her required me to lay on my torn rotator cuff. I was in pain, hurting very bad. However, the moment was priceless and I did not move for 30 minutes. I wanted my morning coffee in the worse way but her face right up against mine overshadowed any coffee I wanted. Priceless.
