HAPPY BIRTHDAY SANCY (FEB. 15TH)

Happy Birthday Sister. You mean so much to me.

You are always there for me when I need to talk to someone. You will listen and give advice even when my problems are very minor.

We have shared fun times, trips, laughter, concerns, and heartaches. You have always been there.

Remember the time we were riding around and Paula was with us? You were driving. We stopped at the four-way stop where a bunch of boys were parked in their cars. I pulled your wig off. (That was when wigs were so "in.") We started fighting and Paula started crying!

Then, there was the time that you got mad at me and chased me around the dining room table with a baton. I was in my pajamas and to escape you I ran outside. We only had a carport, no garage. You locked me out of the house and I had to stay there until Mother got home.

I remember one time Mother was having a party for us at the house the next day. She had bought all these individual bags of chips. You had some friends over the night before and ya'll ate the chips. Mother was so mad!

I remember your first car. A gold Pontiac. Was it a Firebird? I just remember it being so beautiful! Brand new. You and about five of your friends piled in it and went to Florida for Spring Break. I was so jealous. All I got was the hand-me down Dodge something!

Remember the time when Curtis came over all the time? He came over just about every night and ya'll would stay up talking. You or Curtis used to give John 25 cents not to tell Mother. She always knew but since Curtis was just a friend, I guess she didn't let on that she knew.

I remember when we were in college. I would get so mad at you. If I dated a boy that you didn't approve of you would call Mother. Mother would call me and tell me I couldn't go out with him. Thank goodness you approved of Gary!

I remember when you and Johnny bought the RV. I thought that was the craziest thing I had ever heard. An RV???? For three years you begged Gary and me to go camping with you and Johnny. Finally, what...two years ago?...I asked "Well, does it have a bed? Does it have a toilet? Does it have a bathtub?" You just said "Of course." So, we met ya'll at Norfork at the River. That was the most relaxing vacation! That was when Gary and I started talking about buying one!

I am still laughing about the time you and I went to Hong Kong. You were so scared. You couldn't decide if you needed to just read the Bible on the plane or drink a Bloody Mary. What did you decide? Then, I flew in first-class and I had promised you that I would come back in coach halfway through the trip and change seats with you. Guess I forgot to? Sorry! Then, the night before we were to leave to go home we couldn't fit all of our purchases in our suitcases. At midnight we were out in the shopping district buying another suitcase.

And, how about our Christmas skiing vacations? Didn't we have fun? When we were in college we flew to Aspen. I remember the cozy lodge. Then, our best one was at Copper Mountain in 2003. That is still probably one of the best vacations ever! I wish we could do that again but this time John and his family go also! Remember how we had to wait on Chris and Mandy so that we could go snowmobiling! Poor kids!

Well, I could go on and on. But...I know you are already mad at me for posting a blog on your birthday. Last year I asked you if I could and you said No! So, this year I just didn't ask. So, forgive me. As soon as it gets posted my cell phone will be turned off and I'm shutting down the computer. So...don't try to contact me to tell me to delete it!
