As we all sit together looking into the faces of the ones we love,
How we can't help to think of 2-Mama, who is watching from above.

One thing comes to mind as I think about this day,
I will miss my great grandmother and the love she gave away.
2-Mama is still with us,
She's looking upon us now,
I would love one more story told,
If that were possible somehow.

Mother Dear, your birthday is here,
and you are in my thoughts each day.
I wish I could be there to help add more cheer
To help make it special in every way.
You've been a great Mom all my life,
And I appreciate you more than you know.
I'm very glad that Dad picked you as his wife,
but hope we haven't caused you too much woe.
Your cooking, sewing, and all of your love
Has provided us with the best of care.
The spiritual guidance we have to the Lord above
Without your prayers we might not dare.
So many special things you've done for me.
I can't begin to name everything.
However, thru' it all, you were calm as could be.
So today, I'll just your praises sing.
REMEMBER
When I was sick, and in bed I'd be,
The photo albums, you would bring to me.
Those music lessons when I didn't try or care
One good thing that came out of that -- was you would roll my hair.
Four, five, or maybe six piling off the bus one day,
For the weekend, my friends felt free to stay.
When I went to college, all the clothes I had.
You sewed all summer; I had every in-fad.
As the children came along, their needs, too, you would see.
You'd read for hours with them sitting on your knee.
Making the girls' costumes, bridesmaid dresses, and going to all their little things.
Their parties weren't complete unless "Happy Birthday" you'd sing.
Cooking rolls and having strawberries on hand.
None of this I pretend to do, but the kids know 2-Mama can.
We've been so blessed to have a Mother and Grandmother that is you.
Without whom, we do not know what we would do.
So many more birthdays, we need you much,
With our lives, you give that special touch.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY 2-MAMA
