What Time is It??? Swimming Time!

The morning started off interesting. Bennett is sitting at the table waiting on Granddad to bring him his breakfast. Granddad is in the kitchen making breakfast for Bennett. Ma is in the den. Bennett is holding the telephone.

I hear Gary say "I think he's talking to someone." Bennett is saying something in the phone but I'm not really paying attention because he has never called anyone before. But Gary had this serious look on his face. I take the phone from Bennett and say "I'm sorry, I have a two year old that just called this number." Oh, did I mention it wasn't even 7:00 a.m. The person on the other end replied "Miss, is this (she names my street address)?" She then tells me that this is the sheriff's office and they are sending someone to the house. I explain that really is not needed as it was only a two-year calling and it was all an accident. She said that since "we" called they have to send someone out.

Now, everyone is awake. We wait on the sheriff to come. Neighbors are heading to work. People are looking out the window. Frankly, I have NEVER had the sheriff at my house. Well, I have now.

I felt sorry for Bennett. He thought he was in trouble. When the police officer was at the door and talking to us Bennett just kept saying "No...No..." He gave the officer high five but he wouldn't talk to him. After the officer left we joked with Bennett about it but he would just say "No." He didn't want to talk about it. I don't think I have to worry about him taking my phone anymore.

We were in the pool by 8:30 AM. The kids stayed in the water until 11:30 AM. Anna Claire started the day off at 8:00 AM with "What time is it?" "It's swimming time." All day she said that. Even Bennett would start yelling "It's simmin time."

The end of a long day....Anna Claire with her "mousey"

and Bennett with his "paci"

They are such a blessing to us. Anna Claire told me this afternoon that she wished we were neighbors. She asked me again to go to Florida with her. Bennett is just a mess. I asked him what his name was and he said "Bennett poo poo." He loves to just sit in my lap. I love that too. I know I baby them too much, spoil them too much, buy them too much, and on and on. I told Jessica yesterday that I never had a hard time saying "No" to Brent and Shane but I just can not say "No" to Anna Claire and Bennett. Yesterday I tried to say "no" to Bennett in a round-about way. I just said "Bennett, that hurts Ma's feelings when you do that." He looked at me with those big brown eyes and asked "I hurt Ma?" He was so sad. I do say "No" to them but I certainly say "Yes" more.

Anna Claire asked for a glass of tea. I asked her if she was allowed to have tea. She told me that it was okay and her momma let's her have tea. So...I asked Jessica and Jessica said she has never had tea but that it was okay. I gave Anna Claire a glass of tea and she took one sip and said "Ma...is THIS tea?" She didn't take another sip.

Bennett was anxious to get in the pool by 8:00 a.m. I told him I needed my coffee first. He tried to take my coffee cup and he said "I hold Ma...I hold Ma." Then, he kept putting the coffee cup up to my mouth and said "Sip Ma...sip Ma." I ended up having to just drink my coffee like water because he kept putting the cup to my mouth and telling me to sip.
