Mailed the First Care Package

Yesterday I mailed my first care package. I use the flat rate boxes and I have tons of them at home. My dining room is starting to look like a "Care Package for a Soldier" room now. It'll stay that way for a while.

Here is what I put in it: (By the way, Shane....I will not put on my blog what I put in the rest of the care packages! Don't panic!!! :)

From Ozark Natural Foods I put in one package of dried fruit and two packages of trail mix. From Lewis and Clark I put in 6 smartwool light socks. And, the flat rate box was completely full. I still have two more pair of socks but they would not fit in the box so they will go in the next package.

The same people are still working at the post office from the time Shane was in Iraq. They are the nicest people in the world. They all greeted me when I got to the counter.

By the way, when I was at Lewis and Clark they told me that starting in October if you buy one pair of Smart wool socks they will donate one pair to soldiers in Afghanistan. In fact, for every pair you buy, they donate the same number. Awesome! I didn't know that. It's amazing the things people do for our soldiers and they do it from their heart, not publicity!

Betsy,
I plan on starting my shopping soon for Stephen - and he's not even there yet. Laurie and I will keep them coming on a regular basis.
Your family - and especially Shane - is in my prayers each day my friend. Feeble as they are, we know God listens to all of them...
Hugs,
Sue
