HAPPY ANNIVERSARY BRENT AND JESSICA (DECEMBER 2, 2000)

Happy Anniversary to Brent and Jessica. Yes, again I am late with another blog. I think it's time for me to quit blogging. Life is getting in the way!

I can't believe it's been 10 years. I remember when we found out. Gary and I were so happy...for so many reasons. One, we loved Jessica. She was a perfect match spiritually for Brent. Second, we felt that they would always live close to us because she is so close to her family. And, third, she seemed so grounded and we thought she would at least keep Brent in the U.S. more. Well, can't win them all. They live four hours away and I swear, she seeks adventure more than Brent at times. Kids keeping them home...ha! Anna Claire has already been to India, Colorado snow skiing, Florida living in a motel for months! Bennett has already been to several states also.

Brent and Jessica are a perfect couple! They complement each other and are such caring and passionate people. They have blessed Gary and me with two wonderful, kind-hearted grandchildren with another one coming in April 2011.

Things I remember:

When Brent was dating Jessica I was working on my doctorate and also teaching full-time at the university. Brent would ask if Jessica could come over and for the longest I put it off because my house was always such a mess. I didn't know Jessica that well and I didn't want her to think bad of us. Years later she mentioned to me that Brent would tell her she couldn't come over because our house was a mess.

I remember once when they were dating the weather was real bad. Brent was at home but he got a call from Jessica. She had been in a wreck driving on the icy roads. It was late at night, probably around 8:30 p.m. Brent was determined to go check on her. I finally said okay but only if I went also and drove. She was at her dad's law office and we went there to see her. She was shook up and Brent wanted to be with her.

Also, once when they were dating one of the coaches' wives told me that Jessica's mom was asking her about the Orr's. She wanted to know all about Brent's family since her daughter was dating this older boy, Brent. I told Regina that she better tell some lies! I thought it was cute that Jessica's mom was checking us out.

They went to Paris on their honeymoon. As they were over the ocean Brent called me. He said "Hi Mom, guess where I am?" I asked "Where?" He said "Over the ocean!" He was using the plane phone. That call probably cost me $100 but I didn't care. When they got back from their honeymoon Jessica's parents and Gary and I met them at the airport. We were all so excited. They were still babies to us!

Ten years later we are still having the time of our lives with them! It just keeps getting better and better.

Happy Anniversary Brent and Jessica. I love you both so very much! Thank you for letting Gary and me be such a huge part of your life!
