January has been a busy, busy month. It started with a week with the grandkids. I stayed a few days in Norman with the kids. That blog is below this one.
Then, the University started back so I went back to work. I'm on several university and college committees and the week before students start back is when everyone thinks they absolutely must meet! So, everyday I was on campus in meetings.
Last Saturday, after a long delay....actually many delays from the Little Rock airport, my sister and I boarded a plane to Baltimore to see her son, Matt. Matt picked us up at the airport and we went to a nice Italian restaurant for dinner. While in Baltimore Sancy and I strolled along Inner Harbor, accompanied Matt to Kennedy Krieger, and did what all good moms and aunts do....grocery shop, clean, launder clothes, rearrange kitchen supplies, clean out closets, and lecture Matt on keeping the place clean after we leave!
For whatever reason, Sancy will not let you take her picture. Never has. I've gotten in trouble several times from posting a picture of her on my blog.
Here I am at Inner Harbor one block from Matt's apartment.
Now, you gotta understand why I had this picture taken. This is after a full day of cleaning, scrubbing, running errands to Walmart, laundering, rearranging kitchen...... I rewarded myself with a glass of wine and I'm enjoying the spotless apartment immensely. By the way, Matt's apartment was not dirty. I just like to clean and rearrange and decorate. I'm surprised Matt has not called me yet asking where something is.
This was taken at James Joyce Restaurant the night before we left to go home. This is Matt's friend and here I am with both of them.
One block from Matt's apartment.
Well, there SHE is! That's my sister, Sancy, walking! She's all bundled up!
Another view of the Harbor.
The scooch salad from Isabella's Brick Oven Pizza and Panini is now my new favorite food. Some of the ingredients are imported feta, tomatoes, red onions, marinated mushrooms, schooch meats and kalamata olives. It is located in Little Italy and I could eat every meal there. Thank you, Johnny, for the recommendation!
I'm saving the best part for last....no pictures, though. Sancy and I accompanied Matt to Kennedy Krieger. I am in awe of that place. I got to meet one of Matt's doctors...very nice man. Then, they allowed Matt to show me the exercise/therapy room. I really can't explain it. Very impressive, that's all I can say.
There were people there from all parts of the world. One family that was there had an interpreter with them. While sitting in the lobby I watched people enter the front desk and I could tell that several of them definitely were not from this country.
On Tuesday, again after a delay, we headed home. We both flew in and out of Little Rock. I had a wonderful visit and I'm saving my money to go again.

Betsy,
It's so good to see you back - WE MISSED YOU!!!
Glad you had a great trip - we've been to Baltimore. I wouldn't know about the brick oven pizza but we went to the aquarium right at the harbor, and then we went to a little restaurant over looking the harbor and had crab cakes that were the best we've ever had.
I'm so glad you got to spend time with Matt. Prayers that his therapy helps him to walk again.
Again, welcome back! Don't you know that you can't leave us for 2 weeks at a time??
Hugs and love,
Sue
