SUTTON JACK ORR, April 29, 2011, 2:25 PM

Friday, April 29, 2011, at 2:25 PM (approximately five minutes after the doctor arrived) Sutton Jack Orr was here. He was 8 lbs., 9 ozs., and 20 inches long. He has reddish brown hair and is the cutest little chubby guy ever. However, don't call him chubby in front of Anna Claire. She doesn't like that.

His middle name is from Papa Jack. Jack has been an unbelievable grandfather, great grandfather, and father. I just hope Sutton Jack turns out like Papa Jack. I know he will!

Jessica is doing fine and so is Brent. Anna Claire wanted to have a girl and call her Olivia. Bennett even wanted a sister. However, now Anna Claire says "Ma, I wanted a girl but, you know, boys are cute also." She kept saying over and over "I can't believe we have a baby." She is in awe of baby Sutton Jack. Bennett is for about two minutes and then he is on to something else.

Sutton Jack was born at 2:25 PM. The kids got to go to the hospital about 2:50 PM. They waited in the nursery waiting room before they could go to Jessica's room.

While waiting in the nursery waiting area Bennett played games on Granddad's iPhone4.

Brent was by Sutton's side in the nursery. I'm taking the picture from the other side.

When Bennett saw Jessica the second day (morning) Jessica still had a little pooch, which, of course she would. Bennett looked at her and exclaimed "Mommy, are you going to have ANOTHER BABY?" (with the emphasis on another." Bennett wanted to spend some alone time, I think, with his mommy.

Anna Claire would hold Sutton all day if she could. She can't quit staring at him and kissing him. She gave him his first hair brushing. He does have some pretty hair. Ma changed his first diaper.
After he was born Granddad asked Bennett what the new baby's name was. Bennett said "I don't know, just brother." He knew but for some reason, that's what he said. I asked Bennett if he was going to let baby Sutton have his stuffed dog that he sleeps with every night. His reply was "NO WAY!" He is so funny. That night Jessica's parents and Gary and me stayed at their house. At bedtime Anna Claire hugged everyone one and gave her kisses before she went to bed. Bennett hugged everyone and then yelled "No kisses, you guys!"

Anna Claire holding baby Sutton. Anna Claire kept telling me over and over "Ma, I hope he's going to be a lazy boy. I really want a lazy boy." Hum, I thought that was a little strange. Then, she explained herself. "Bennett is a wild boy and I don't want another wild boy!"

Jessica's dad, Papaw, with Sutton.
Jessica's mom, Mom, with Sutton.

Ma holding baby Sutton. Anna Claire keeping near him at all times anticipating her "turn."

Granddad getting his turn. Again, Anna Claire has moved next to Granddad waiting for her turn.

At the end of a very long day for Brent and Jessica I realized I never did get a "first" picture of baby Sutton and the parents!

Bennett is keeping one eye on the baseball game that is playing on tv.

Those are Ma's hands. I didn't realize they were in the picture!

Ma got to change his first "poopy" diaper.

Anna Claire never stayed far from Sutton. She was always sitting next to whoever was holding Sutton and asking "Is it my turn yet?"

Every time she thought Sutton was going to cry Anna Claire was say "Shush" "Shush". I told her that was so sweet. Her reply was "Crying is so annoying. I don't want him to cry."

No one is looking at the same camera. Jessica's mom and I are both taking pictures. The only way we could get Bennett in the bed was to tell him it was a special bed. Jessica showed him how it could go up and down. Then he cooperated.

It was hard leaving them, that's for sure.
