The kids had just started swimming lessons when we arrived. I can't believe the improvement Anna Claire had made when we left. Bennett had been sick the first week so he was very behind. Bennett doesn't understand the broken English of the swim coach and that just doubled the frustration with him. For some reason, Anna Claire can understand him.
Anna Claire with her swim coach, Zanabar or something like that. I just always said "swim coach."
During swim lessons I usually tried to hold Sutton. He is happy as long as he can watch everything.
Anna Claire
This is one of the days that Bennett was either sick or just didn't want to swim. It was a struggle every day. One day Bennett was crying because he didn't want lessons and he was saying "But what if I can't understand what he is telling me!" I knew then that was the reason Bennett didn't want lessons. That and plus he is a 3 year old who would rather be just playing in the pool.
Jessica and Bennett
I think she may be on a swim team someday. She is very coachable, as Gary would say.
Coconut tree. I've never seen anything this big!

After a few days the swim coach told Jessica that Anna Claire needed a swim cap and goggles. Anna Claire was so pleased. Her good friend, Muntah, wears goggles and a swim cap.

They really value their cannas here. I have had some and you can not kill them, not even with round up.
Anna Claire touching the cannas! Usually everyone just ignores the sign.

This is just the most beautiful pool. There are some things that just don't make sense over here but you get so used to it. There isn't an entrance to the pool. When Jessica brings Sutton in the stroller she has to have help picking the stroller up to get it over the bushes to enter the pool area.
Where you see the gap between the palm bushes and the cannas is one way to enter the pool. You have to step in the flower bed.
This is what it looks like when kids enter the pool area.
