UNIVERSITY OF PUNE WORK

While in Pune I also worked on a research project with the Dean of the College of Education at the University of Pune. We are collaborating on a critical incident study with several high schools in the area. Hopefully, in about 12 to 18 months we will have a published refereed article and several international presentations. Twelve to 18 months is average for a research project of this nature. We started the project last November with the pilot study. My graduate assistant reported on the project at a conference in Hawaii this past January.

Brent's driver, Eulass, drove Gary and me to the campus. After a long time trying to find the right building, which looked nothing like what was on the Internet, we found the right place.

Gary, the associate professor who will handle the statistical data for India data, me, and the Dean of the College of Education. I don't have a clue who is behind us. As soon as they saw the camera they all came over to get in the picture.

While I was in my meeting Gary walked around campus taking pictures.

After the meeting, which was early afternoon, the Dean insisted that Gary and I stay for an Indian lunch. I knew we couldn't or we would be so sick. All of the food must be washed with filtered water and I knew that was probably not going to happen. I really did not want to get sick my third day in India. We insisted we had to leave. I felt bad but I just could not get sick so soon in my visit. I remembered Jessica telling me that Annie has to wash their fruit and vegetables with filtered water or they get sick.

The meeting was very productive and I am anxious to get started with the preliminary writing.
