Gary and I left home on Thursday, May 17, 2012. We plan on spending 7 days at Lake Thunderbird State Park in Norman, Oklahoma. From there we will leave on May 24th and go to Western Kentucky to meet Shane and Jess for the Memorial Day Weekend.
All packed! Kayaks in back of the truck. We left at 11:00 a.m. from Rogers, Arkansas.
We finally made it to our destination at 5:00 p.m. Betsy standing in front of the Lake Thunderbird State Park sign.
Gary, Anna Claire and Bennett fishing from the pier.
Bennett with his look when he is letting me know "No more pictures, Ma!"
Bennett watching the bobber.
Bennett in Ma and Granddad's travel trailer looking for deer.
As ALWAYS, we HAD to go to Bass Pro!
Even Sutton has to go to Bass Pro when Ma and Granddad are in town. He spends most of his time pointing at the animals that are hanging from the ceiling.
Ma with Sutton.
Sutton's favorite place in the travel trailer is under the table and in the kids' bedroom.
Bennett is going to enter a duck calling contest that that he can win a kid hunting gun and a hunting costume. Ma asked him if he was going to win any money and he said "No! I'm going to win a hunting costume!"
Jessica and Sutton taking a stroll in the park.
Anna Claire and Bennett had their scooters and bikes at the trailer. Anna Claire, Bennett, Gary and Brent.
Sutton LOVES to be thrown in the air by his Daddy.
Bennett riding his bike. I think Ma needs a bike. It's a workout keeping up with him.
Bennett bought this "very special hat" at Bass Pro. It has a deer on it.
Bennett, four years old, can read this sign above the tv. It says "To The Lake."
Every morning Bennett would wake up and make the couch into a bed. He was allowed to watch two Netflix cartoons. The day after he bought this hat at Bass Pro he would also wake up and put on his hat. He has his blue blankie with him. For breakfast he would have cereal and TWO glass of chocolate milk. (Sorry Brent and Jessica but he told me this was a special occasion.) On this particular morning we had a very serious conversation. Bennett said "Ma, there's something I just don't understand." I asked "What is it?" He replied "Sissy doesn't let me call her Anna Claire and I want to call her Anna Claire. She told me I had to call her Sissy." I explained to Bennett how special it was that he was the only person in the world who could really call Anna Claire sissy. She's not my sister or Granddad's sister, she is only Bennett and Sutton's sister and Sutton can't talk."
This is one of Sutton's favorite places. He can sit on Anna Claire's bed and look out the window. One day he saw a dog out the window and he was elated. He would just scream and point.
Anna Claire fixed Ma's hair MANY times a day. He would put my hair in a pony tail, take it out, put it back in a pony tail, take it out and we would do this over and over. We were playing beauty shop.
Anna Claire LOVES to knit with Ma. She is using her weaving loom and making Mommy a potholder.
Anna Claire made a pattern with the pot holder. Two pinks, then two blues, then two yellows, etc.
One afternoon Anna Claire and Ma knitted all afternoon. First Anna Claire played with the knitting needles to get the hang of it. Then, Ma taught Anna Claire how to knit. Anna Claire is knitting Mommy a scarf. Anna Claire told her girl friends (six of them) at school that Ma would knit them a dishcloth. The girls said "No thank you but I'll take a hat." Anna Claire asked me if I could knit six hats. Thursday is her last day of school. I said "Oh, sweetie, I don't think I can knit six hats by Thursday." Anna Claire replied "Yes you can Ma. Here's what you do. Knit two day, two tonight, and then two tomorrow. You will have six by my graduation." Well, it did take me two months to knit one hat and it's too big for her! I guess I know what I'll be knitting this summer! I told Anna Claire a better idea would be for me to knit her friends a hat but give it to them this fall. She also wants me to knit her neighbor a dishcloth because "she doesn't have any."

We are having the best time. Bennett and I play bears. Anna Claire and I play beauty shop and knitting.
Sunday night Anna Claire had to sleep at her house because she had school Monday. Bennett was so sad. Monday morning he woke up and told me how much he missed sissy. Well, Monday afternoon Anna Claire got to come out. Gary and I took them home Monday night. Anna Claire and Bennett fought all the way. Bennett didn't want Anna Claire looking out his side of the car window. Gary finally told them that the truck was America and it was the Land of the Free. That meant you can look out whichever window you wanted to.
I tried to get them to quit fighting. I reminded Bennett how sad he was when Sissy wasn't at the camper. He replied "Well, that was LONG time ago!" I said "Bennett, it wasn't a long time ago." He replied "Let's just forget it!"
The kids would have fun playing "Google It." They would come up with something they wanted to know more about and we would google it. Bennett's topic was "How to kill a deer." We googled it and he watched a YouTube video on how to kill a deer. Anna Claire chose "How to make a dog stop biting stuff." We googled it and learned how to make a dog stop biting your stuff.
