This was our annual War Eagle Arts and Craft Fair weekend. Sancy and Paula come up every year. This year they stayed an extra night and I think it was our best time ever. No doubt I say that every year but we did have a blast. I have never laughed so much in my life.
Last year we "giggled" at all the little old ladies with their matching shirts and hats. We may have used terms like "gaudy" "silly" "we would never do that!" Deep inside, we were jealous that these little old ladies knew how to have fun. More on this later.
Our first stop was Thursday night. We began the night at Mary Maestri's in Springdale, AR. The food was wonderful! After dinner we drove to Frisco Station Mall, Rogers, AR.
Friday morning we headed out to War Eagle, War Eagle, AR. There is a story behind this and I am not allowed to tell anyone. The three of us signed a pact in blood and we'll never tell. All I can say is, the third time is the charm.
While at War Eagle Paula found a booth selling these cute, adorable shirts. Many times Sancy had made a comment "I'm so glad we don't dress like some of these old ladies that think they have to dress alike." Paula and I wanted us all three to have matching shirts so bad. We convinced Sancy that this was something we really needed to do. Sancy said "Well, where will we put them on?" I told her the car and we all went to the car and put the shirts on over our shirts. The fun started. Everybody would stop us and tell us how cute we were. We were loving it. In fact, we were all sharing stories with each other on comments people would say about us.
War Eagle was wonderful! I'm so glad I've finally been to War Eagle! That's all I'm saying about that!
Our day was planned and our next stop was Spanker Creek in Bella Vista, AR. Paula and I had secretly been talking about our outfits and we felt we needed to raise the bar. In a children's booth I found these flowers. Those were a must. Sancy said they were gaudy and she wasn't wearing hers. We insisted that she had to be a team player. Several hours later, still shopping, Sancy puts her hand to her hair and says "My flower! Is it still there?"
Well, Paula and I loved the whole outfit. Sancy had made us swear that we wouldn't put any pictures on Facebook. I told Paula that Sancy would chew me out but she would never chew Paula out so Paula needs to put the pictures on Facebook. Sancy thinks we are just looking at stuff in a vendor's booth but Paula is secretly putting pictures on Facebook. Then, we just waited for the sparks to fly. They never did. We were getting so worried. Every time we saw Sancy look at her phone I would whisper to Paula "Well, she's seeing it now. Get ready." We spent all afternoon waiting on the storm! Sancy never saw the pictures. When she opened Facebook there were so many other people putting things on Facebook that our pictures were way down on the Facebook newsfeed page. She never scrolled that far down.
Saturday we went to the Bella Vista, Bella Vista, AR arts and crafts show. Betty Sue Parker, Sancy's sister in law, went with us there.
After the Bella Vista fair we still had three more places to go. We drove to Springdale, AR and decided to eat at Marketplace Grill. On the way Sancy said "I think I'll put that picture of us on Facebook." Paula and I said "Okay but be careful. We sure don't want two, three or four pictures of the same pose of us on Facebook." We knew the pictures were already on Facebook and here Sancy was getting ready to put them on again. We still didn't tell her what we had done. Paula and I figured that all our Facebook friends would think we had been out drinking or something. Who posts the same picture over and over? Finally, I said "Paula, should we tell her?" We told her what we had done. She didn't get mad but I knew she would never get mad at Paula.
After Marketplace Grill we went to the Holiday Inn Convention Center. They had some good stuff but not like last year. Then, we went to our favorite. Embassy Suites in Rogers, AR. That is where we all found our favorite items. I can't talk about what we bought because we were all Christmas shopping.
We also went to Jones Center in Springdale on Saturday. I had been looking for a Christmas wreath. Jones Center was the last place we were shopping and, of course, that's where I found my wreath.
The days all ran together. They came on Thursday night and left on Sunday morning. I already miss them. I am now on the lookout for feathers for our hair. I think the flower needs to be spiced up. I even saw a pink wig. That's an idea! And I almost forgot to mention, we were also carrying matching shopping bags!

Marketplace Grill in Springdale. Chris met us for supper. After our meal we all had a "chocolate mess" for dessert. I don't remember the last time I had sweets. We were all miserable after we got home.
Betsy and Paula. Paula lived a couple of houses down from me when I was growing up. We have always been close friends. She is one of those true friends that you have your entire life.
