Sancy, Mother, Jack, Josh and Katie from Shane's family and Kathy, Charles, John, Michelle, Kate and her family from Jess's family were all at Shane's law school graduation.
Shane began law school four years ago. He also got married. Then, one day he received a letter from the U. S. Army calling him back into service. He served a year in Afghanistan. When he got back, he started law school again. This has made it all the more special and I am so proud of him. Some people would have given up after being called back into service. Not Shane. Not Jess. They are two strong people and I love them both so much.
You only graduate from law school once. So, out came the decorations. Gary rented a fabulous house for all the family. I can't even describe how much fun we had. As soon as Gary and I arrive Sancy, Mother and Jack were not too long before they arrived also.
The front window in the den had pictures draped from window to window. Shane's life was on display every where.
The table centerpiece was a display of pictures of Shane through the years.
The "shrine" had Shane's favorite tie in junior high and high school, a drum he made when he was about four, his cub scout Derby car, and his baby shoes.
It was Mother's idea to have balloons on the mailbox. I am so glad she though of that. Gary and Jack headed to Walmart and came back with balloons.

I had been telling Sancy and Katie about the Mint Juleps. I had them at the Kentucky Derby and loved, loved, loved them.

I really appreciate everyone who was able to come. It was such a special day. Shane works hard and puts forth 150% in everything he does. We had so much fun. Sancy and I stocked up at Trader Joe's. Then, went to two Liquor Barns before we could find some Mint Julep to buy to take home. Gary and Jack were troopers running errands for us in preparation for the party. I didn't realize how hard it would be to find UK paper plates and cups. I couldn't buy those in Arkansas and I thought I could just walk in Walmart and buy some. Walmart didn't carry them here. We finally found some at a Liquor Barn express. It was a great weekend.

Josh and Katie. Josh is Shane's cousin. I'm so proud of Josh...he stayed awake. He slept through my graduation when I received my doctorate. I have a picture that someone took that shows him asleep.
