Thanksgiving at Nana's 2013

This could have been the best Thanksgiving ever! But.....we didn't have Shane and Jess here or Chris and Mandy. Presley was here the day before but not on Thanksgiving Day. Even with all that, wonderful memories were made.

I think we started a new tradition. It was Sancy's idea. We bought matching clothes from Kelley's Kids for the five grandkids. For the record, it's extremely difficult to find matching clothes for boys and girls and five different sizes. Kelley's Kids was the only place we could find and we were so pleased with the clothes.

Then, Sancy had scheduled a wonderful photographer for the morning before Thanksgiving. We were not sure this would work because the only time the photographer could do it was at 8:00 a.m. Wow! However, it was perfect.
After pictures Anna Claire left with Presley with Sancy to go to her house. Anna Claire loves her Aunt Sancy and her cousin Presley.
I (Betsy) bought matching pj's for all the kids. Here they are with their great grandmother, Nana. Well, Sutton is missing. Sutton doesn't like to have his picture taken.
Aunt Jill gave all the kids similar winter hats. They loved them. In fact, Anna Claire wears hers all the time inside.

The cousins had so much fun playing with each other.
Bennett, the hunter in the family, loves anything hunting related.

Anna Claire loves reading. She is reading "The Boxcar Collection."

Aunt Sancy gave Bennett a Duck Commander tent. He slept in it every night.
And Bennett, Sutton and Anna Claire got in it to watch movies.

Well, that's Thanksgiving. Sancy, Jill and Betsy did the cooking. As always, we had too much food. The guys went hunting. No one was sick! That's unusual. The weather was cold outside so we all stayed in the trailer. We didn't do as much four wheeling as we usually do. Bennett did manage to fish in the pond but it sure was cold!

The night before one of the children (that's John, Betsy or Sancy) provides the meal. Last year Sancy and Johnny provided gumbo. This year Betsy and Gary provided taco soup.

Nana and Papa Jack gave everyone a very nice and big turkey fryer. I guess I know who will NOT be frying the turkey next year!

Thank you John for opening your trailer up to all of us. It's a great place to gather and is perfect for all the kids.
