It's a Boy!

Bennett Leon was born Monday, March 24, 2008 at around 11:00 a.m. Ma and Granddad were just outside the door of the delivery room. So were Jessica's parents. Jessica's mom, Chris, was the first to hear the doctor say the word "he." We knew then! He's 8 pounds, 7 ounces and 20 inches long. Has a head full of black hair! Has eyes as big as saucers!

Right after he was delivered the nurse came outside. She saw Chris and me and said "We aren't allowed to tell you the sex." We said, "That's okay. We already know." Maybe we weren't in the room but we were glued to the door to the room. Jessica is doing fine and Brent is so proud to have a hunting buddy! Granddad told me that we needed to start saving for a 4-wheeler and a gun. I'm just hoping for William and Patrick's hand-me downs from the farm!


Here's a picture of Brent, Jessica and Bennett. They look a little tired. Jessica's labor actually started two days before Bennett finally arrived. Bennett's doctor said that he is a complainer. We are just thankful that the doctor didn't say screamer! For those of you that remember Anna Claire's first several, several months...you know what I'm talking about. We were laughing today about when Shane went to Florida for Memorial Weekend holiday to visit Brent, Jessica and Anna Claire when Anna Claire was only one month old. Shane had four days off and he wanted to see his new niece. Brent was telling us that Anna Claire screamed for four days and Shane had to sleep in the same room with her and he didn't get any sleep. I don't think Bennett will do that.
