DANCING, SHOPPING, AND STOMACH VIRUS

I've decided it doesn't matter where I go, the stomach virus is not too far behind. Friday night Bennett (9 1/2 months old) started getting it. He was a very, very sick little baby last night. Today he is much better. As of 5:30 p.m. he had not thrown up today. This morning, and last night, he would just sit in my lap and not move. So sad.

I put a quilt on the floor this morning. I was going to see if he could keep a bottle down and I really didn't know if he could. That little sweet granddaughter of mine said "Ma, would you like a pillow to put behind your back?" I was feeding Bennett on the floor because I thought that at least if he threw up, the quilt would catch it all and it would not be all in the carpet. I said "Sure." She asked me which pillow I wanted and she propped the pillow behind my back. She even asked me what side of the pillow I wanted next to my back. I set there for a while holding Bennett to see if he was going to throw up. She then said "Ma, I don't feel good either." I asked "Do you want me to hold you too?" She said "Yes" so by now my back really was aching but there I was, in the middle of the floor, holding a sick baby in one arm and a very well 2 1/2 year old in the other. I enjoyed every minute of the cuddling.

Yesterday morning Anna Claire put on her princess outfit on top of her pajamas. She "taught" me ballet. She taught me how to put my hands over my head and hop and hop and hop and.....

And then, we went shopping for SHOES! Of course, we must find shiny sparkly shoes. Anna Claire picked out this pair that was probably five sizes too big but they were shiny black! Anna Claire would not take off her kitty cat boots to try on shoes. We bought a pair of Nike tennis shoes without trying them on. Anna Claire had quite a traumatic experience at Dillards in the mall. The sales clerk was unprofessional and I really don't care to go back to that particular store. Jessica was trying to get Anna Claire to take off her kitty cat boots. Anna Claire screamed. The sales clerk who was NOT a two-year old screamed back. I'm serious, the sales clerk screamed at the top of her lungs back at Anna Claire. Anna Claire looked shocked and turned around and started running away. Jessica goes running after her and Bennett is amused by it all. I'm not happy. The sales clerk was acting like a two-year old! I bought the shoes and we got out of there. Granddad saved the day. He brought Anna Claire a lollipop to the mall and all was well!

This was Bennett's first merry go round. Jessica and I took turns walking in circles with him. By the third ride he started to understand what was going on and he would honk the horn and his feet would kick the entire time.

Jessica left to go to a baby shower. Right before she left Anna Claire asked her if she could watch "Elmo's World." Jessica said, "No, Anna Claire, you have already watched one cartoon today." As soon as Jessica left the house I heard "Ma, can I watch Elmo's World." I said, "No, I heard what your Momma told you." Then I heard "Da da, can I watch Elmo's World?" "SURE!" Of course, that is what Da Da said. She ran to me "Ma, Da Da said I could watch Elmo's World. I soooo excited!" Here they are, cuddlying on the couch watching "Elmos's World."

Just two random stories:

One morning when Anna Claire woke up she told me "Ma, my legs hurt." I said "Your legs hurt. Do they hurt now?" She said "No, they hurt last night but God healed them."

Sunday morning I had been vacuuming the house. When Brent and Jessica left to go to church I quit cleaning so that I could give all my time to the kids. Bennett crawled to the vacuum cleaner. I watched Anna Claire and she was pointing her finger at Bennett and saying "Brother, that's a do not touch brother. That's a do not touch." Bennett touched the vacuum cleaner and she pinched his finger and then said "Ma, I pinched brother's little finger." When Bennett touches the fireplace Brent and Jessica give a very light pinch to his finger to try to teach him not to touch the fireplace. Anna Claire was doing exactly what her parents do! I meant to tell Brent and Jessica that she was punishing Bennett. I don't think they want her to do that but I couldn't remember.

I have a lot of random pictures. I think they are cute but I didn't have room to post them all. Here they are...

VIDEO OF BENNETT SITTING ON ANNA CLAIRE'S FACE
Don't let Bennett fool you. He can hold his own with Anna Claire. Anna Claire wants to get in the baby bed with Bennett but she doesn't want Bennett on her side of the bed. Anna Claire thinks it is funny until Bennett sits on her face!

VIDEO OF BENNETT BLOWING BUBBLES
If you blow bubbles at Bennett, he will imitate you.

VIDEO OF ANNA CLAIRE AND BENNETT WITH PINK BLANKET
Whatever Anna Claire has, Bennett wants. In this video she keeps asking me to move him but the pink blanket ends up on his face. I shut off the video to take the blanket off.

VIDEO OF BENNETT STILL TRYING TO TAKE ANNA CLAIRE'S PINK BLANKET.
I finally hand Bennett his blue blanket. Anna Claire is still asking me to move him.
