Camping with Anna Claire

This is supposed to be a scary face!

It was just the three of us one night (Betsy, Gary and Anna Claire). Gary (Granddad) made a fire and we sat around the fire trying to make scary faces with the flashlight. This is Anna Claire's scary face. She was saying "Oooooohhhhh!)

After a while Anna Claire and I went hiking (i.e. walking) but we didn't get too far. Anna Claire said "Ma, I want to go back. We might get captured." So, back to the trailer we went.

God should give all grandmothers a granddaughter. We were sitting in the trailer coloring and Anna Claire asked "Ma, can I see your fingers?" I put my hands out and she said "Oh Ma, your fingers are pretty." Then, she asked "Ma, can I see your toes?" I took off my socks and she looked at my feet. "Oh Ma, your toes are so pretty. I love your red color." Now, I am putty in her hand about now. The icing on the cake after that was "Ma, when I get big can I wear your clothes?"

Oh my, at this point I'm giving my treasured belongings to this little girl. I'm thinking of printing this out, laminating it, and giving it to her to read when she is about 12 years old or whatever age it is that little girls start getting into clothes. Poor child. When she reads years from now that she wanted to wear her Grandma's clothes, well, I want a picture of her expression.

Sunday morning Gary and I got up early to go to the 8:00 a.m. service. Leaving the campground we saw a buffalo! In Springdale, Arkansas. Who would have thought?
