Papaw's 90th Birthday Party

Gary's dad turned 90 years old May 7th. His parents never get out of the house so Brent picked them up at their house and brought them to the trailer at the lake where we have been camping.

He had so much fun and thoroughly enjoyed all of the attention. I asked Anna Claire how old she thought he was and I reminded her he was very old. She paused and thought for a moment and said "Well, I think he must be 7."

We had two cakes and one cake had a candle for him to blow out. He didn't have any trouble blowing out the candle.
We had ice cream and cheese cake to go with the birthday cakes. Gary grilled hamburgers and again, I left out half the food. I forgot the lettuce and potato salad.

Poor Bennett. He is such a deprived child when it comes to sweets. Anna Claire is too but she doesn't even care for sweets anymore. You can ask her if she wants some ice cream and she'll probably say "No thank you." Bennett, on the other hand, can see a cake and he gets hyper. When he saw the cake and ice cream his feet started kicking and he started pointing at the cake.

We had party bubbles for everyone but Anna Claire and Brent were really the only ones who enjoyed the party favors.

Mr. Orr is so sweet. He gives me all the credit and Gary none. He kept saying "Betsy, thank you so much. I know this is your doing. You have gone to so much work." Poor Gary. All I did was buy the stuff and then I forgot half of it. Gary had to work and then rush out to the trailer after work and grill hamburgers.
