Eating out has not been the problem that I thought it would be. All of the upscale, nicer restaurants cater to foreigners and they can make food that is not spicy. We ate at Hard Rock Cafe the other night. I got the caesar salad, which was delicious. Here they bring food out as it is ready where in America everyone gets their food at the same time. It is the custom to just go ahead and start eating when your food is delivered. Otherwise, it will get very cold.
The kids even eat spicy Indian food. We ate at the local mall the other day. KFC and Subway are in the mall. You can't go wrong with popcorn chicken...right? Wrong!!! I took one bite and Brent ended up eating it. It was way too spicy for me. I ate half of Bennett's Subway ham and cheese sandwich.
Speaking of cheese, I don't know what it is here but it is the grossest thing I have ever tasted. At Hard Rock Anna Claire got macaroni and cheese. I took one bite of her's and almost had to spit it out. The cheese in the macaroni and cheese was awful. Jessica got nachos and the cheese on the nachos was unbearable.
Today we ate close to the hotel. I got noodles and vegetables but Brent had to ask to make mine with no spices. Anna Claire thinks it is so funny and she thinks I need some spices so she kept trying to sprinkle my noodles with some of her spicy rice.
The way they serve water is a little different. They don't serve chilled water. The first couple of times I ordered filtered water the waiter brought it to me and it was lukewarm. After a couple of times I just "understood" that was the way it would be. Brent told me today that they think cold water makes you sick.
Tonight Annie will be cooking for us. Her food is also spicy but there's always other things to go with it. I haven't gone hungry, that's for sure.

Of course you would find a grilled chicken salad in India! ha!
It would be a huge adjustment getting used to the food. It was for me in Mexico. I remember getting a salad in a mall for the first time in a couple of weeks and it tasting like heaven.
