Shaniwar wada was residence of the Peshwas. The construction of this seven-storied structure was started by Bajirao 1 in 1730 AD and it was completed in 1732 AD at a cost of Rs 16,120 (about $230 American dollars). Down the centureis, the original structure was destroyed by many natural and manmade calamities. It is free to enter for Indians but 100 rubees for foreigners.
