Ma Kayaking!

Ma (that's me, Betsy Orr) is kayaking and loves it.

Sancy and I went kayaking two days. We put in at Red's Landing, Norfork and kayaked to Calico Rock. 18 miles. The first day the river was down and you could see the bottom of the river. We never got in. It was very cold. The second day the river was up and we couldn't see the bottom. Sancy insisted I wear my life jacket. She said if you can't see the bottom of the river then you have to wear a life jacket.

The second day we went kayaking it was cloudy and 30 percent chance of thunderstorms. Well, wouldn't you know. A 30 percent chance of thunderstorms meant rain and lightening 100 percent. One fisherman drove by and then turned around to check on us. He was a little worried about these two little old ladies.

The second day was not relaxing. Stressful describes the day. We should not have gone out. There wasn't any where to stop as you are out in the middle of Nowhere. We were the tallest things on the river and that's all I could think about. Lesson learned. Next time if there is a 1 percent chance of rain or anything else, I'm staying home.

I still want to buy a kayak!

Betsy,
Kayaking....ummm, I don't THINK so. Too close to the water and I am NOT a water baby. :)
How awesome, though, that you were able to do this with Sancy.
And looking at your previous post with your family party for your mom, you guys really know how to surprise a lady. Wonderful.
Hugs and love - and a big hug to Shane who looks terrific. Thank you, Shane for your service and sacrifice - two times over, but appreciated much more than words can say.
Love and hugs,
Sue
